Wereld Water Monitor Dag is een internationaal opleidingsprogramma dat openbare kennis bouwt en mensen betrekt in het beschermen van de wateren over de hele wereld, door middel van het activeren van mensen die lokale wateren meten op de kwaliteit.

Ashanti, Ghana
On the 7th October 2011, Rural Education and Agriculture International (READI) in collaboration Water Resource Commission, Ghana embarked on the World Water Monitoring Day at the Nyinahin, the district capital of Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti Region. Over 30 teachers and students from the Nyinahin Catholic SHS participated. Mr Antwi from A ROCHA Ghana started the programme by giving a brief introduction to water management and the need to preserve our water resources while Mr. Isaac Nunoo, the CEO of READI, explained the main purpose of World Water Monitoring Day. He also took the school pupils through the use of the water monitoring kits.
Thereafter, students were divided into five groups and given a WWMD kit, which allowed them to perform basic water monitoring tests. The tests were carried out at Offin River, which flows through Adeambra.The students got water samples and the following parameters were determined: water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and turbidity of the water. They worked and cooperated as a team.
